The Baco Harvest Awards 2022, organized by the U.E.C. It is the great appointment in Spain with young wines, it has the endorsement of a panel of tasters made up entirely of members of the Spanish Union of Tasters to recognize the best elaborations of our country from the 2022 vintage.
The only contest in Spain open exclusively to wines made in the most recent harvest, that of 2022, without restriction of type (white, rosé, red, sparkling and sweet wines) or origin: denominations of origin, Vinos de la Tierra, Wines of Payment, Table wines
The objectivity and seriousness of the UEC are values that have undoubtedly made it possible to consolidate the Baco Awards as the longest-running event recognized annually by the current Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA). The total anonymity of the samples presented to the juries, introducing the bottles in opaque sleeves, the service by sommeliers belonging to the IES Hotel Escuela de la Comunidad de Madrid and the use of the official tasting sheets of the Spanish Union of Tasters for the main national and international wine competitions ensure the total objectivity of the qualifications awarded.
A total of 55 members of the Spanish Union of Tasters evaluate in strict blind tasting all the wines registered for the great event with the young wines of our country, all born in the 2021 harvest. White, rosé, red, sparkling and sweets; made or not in contact with wood; tested before a panel of judges full of references of sommelier, oenology and specialized critics of our country.
One more year, sommeliers from the career of Dani Poveda, Javier Gila, Arturo Garre, Ana Lahiguera and Francisco Abellán, leading winemakers such as Ignacio de Miguel, Jorge Navascues, Alfonso Chacón, Isabel Galindo, Jesús Navascues, José Hidalgo Camacho, Esteban Celemín or Maite Sánchez, and prescribers of the experience of Bartolomé Sánchez, Luis Vida, Juan Manuel Ibáñez, José Casal del Rey or Francisco del Castillo, among others, will consolidate with their presence the rigor and independence of an essential event in the annual calendar such as the Awards Baco, the most complete guide to discover the top young labels in our latitudes.
