Bernardí Roig
The work of Bernardí Roig has always been linked to the poetics of the spaces, establishing a tense dialogue with the memory of the images. Light acts as a metaphor for that memory. His solitary white sculptures – extracted from the rubble of real people – represent a reflection on the human figure as the last and solitary presence.
In the last years, Bernardí Roig has created diverse personal routes in spaces that contain works of the past. In 2008 he took part in the cloister of the cathedral of Burgos; In 2009, at the Galleria Internazionale d’Arte Moderna Ca’Pesaro, Venice, within the framework of the 53rd Biennial.
