15,00

Production:
The Sauvignon Blanc Fermentat en Barrica 2021 from Macià Batle is a high-quality white wine made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The grapes are hand-harvested at their optimal ripeness in mid-September. The juice is then obtained through gentle pneumatic pressing to preserve the freshness and purity of the must. Fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels at a controlled temperature, not exceeding 17ºC, to maintain the intensity of the varietal aromas. After fermentation, the wine rests in the same barrels for a period of 6 months, which adds complexity and structure before being bottled.

Production:
1856 is a sophisticated and well-balanced red wine, crafted from a careful blend of varieties: 30% Mantonegro, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 20% Syrah. The grapes are hand-harvested, selecting bunches with smaller berries to ensure the highest quality. The grapes are gently crushed before beginning fermentation at a controlled temperature of 30ºC. After fermentation, the wine rests in stainless steel tanks and then ages for twelve months in French oak barrels, which adds complexity and structure. Once bottled, the wine is kept at a constant temperature of 17ºC to refine its characteristics before being released.

Tasting Notes:

Visual phase:
It presents an intense cherry-red color with brick-red edges, showing a bright appearance and pronounced tears in the glass.

Aroma phase:
On the nose, there are prominent aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, accompanied by spices like clove and pepper. Balsamic notes, vanilla, and pleasant toasted hints are also perceived, which become more intense with slight aeration in the glass, enhancing the wine’s aromatic complexity.

Taste phase:
On the palate, 1856 is powerful and flavorful, with an intense mouth aroma. The tannins are soft and well-integrated with the oak, providing a balanced texture. The wine’s smoothness is expected to improve further with additional months in the bottle. It offers a long-lasting taste persistence, leaving a lingering memory of its complex flavors and aromas.

Pairing Notes:
This wine is ideal for pairing with roasted red meats, game dishes, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. Its structure and complexity enhance and complement the flavors of these foods.

Serving Recommendations:
It is recommended to uncork the bottle a few hours before tasting and use large glasses to facilitate the wine’s aeration, which helps develop its olfactory and gustatory potential. Serve at a minimum temperature of 17ºC to fully enjoy its characteristics.

Aging Potential:
1856 will evolve favorably over the next 4 years, gaining in smoothness and complexity over time.
